Dear all

Please enter the OCC prediction competition to raise money for junior development.

Complete the attached form, send it to g.cope@eif.org and then pay

Your EUR 10 entry fee(s) must be paid directly to the Luxembourg Cricket Federation Juniors Bank BCEE Account IBAN LU03 0019 3755 6075 9000 quoting the reference of 'T20 World Cup Competition'. Please note this is a different account than previous years. All entry fees must be received in this account before September 30th 2012 otherwise your entry will be removed from the competition.

Starting on September 18th, 12 international teams will be competing for the ICC T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. The tournament is set up with 4 groups of three teams, each playing each other with the top 2 teams in each group going through to the next round.

What your support will help

As before, to continue to support all of the efforts dedicated to developing the sport of cricket in Luxembourg and to have some fun, we have decided to organise once again the 'Prediction Competition' based upon the upcoming ICC tournament. This competition is to support the Juniors section of the Optimists Cricket Club and the Luxembourg Cricket Federation which continues to grow and the results are beginning to build a body of young players to support both the Optimists, the LCF teams and to compete internationally.

Since the last Predictions competition, Junior Cricket in Luxembourg has developed in many fantastic ways both on and off the pitch:-

-          The Luxembourg Cricket Federation has employed a full time Development Officer and National Coach – Ben Embleton.

-          The Nationals U15s team played in an international tournament in Denmark beating both Belgium and Denmark 2 and narrowly losing the other matches.

-          Luxembourg hosted an U11s international tournament in May this year, against Belgium and Switzerland.

-          The U18s national team recently played in another international tournament in Karlsruhe and recorded historic wins against Belgium and France losing narrowly to Germany.

-          Plus many more achievements too numerous to mention.

To help support this continued progress, we would like to ask you to enter the competition by completing your 'prediction form' and paying the small entry fee and then we will see at the end of the tournament who has the best cricket prediction skills in Luxembourg. Of course, you can win some money too with the top prize being one third of the total money raised.  In the last competition we had over 50 entries which meant the first prize was EUR 180. The more people that enter, the more money you can win, and the more money we raise for the Clubs Juniors activities.

The rules are simple and stated on the enclosed form BUT entries MUST be received by me by 18th September before the first game starts. You simply need to predict the winners of all the first and second round matches, then predict who will be the 4 semi finalists, the 2 finalists and the tournament winners. But don't forget the tie break question - it could be very important.

Please send your completed forms directly to me at
cope@eif.org and I will regularly keep you informed of everyone's progress.

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks & Regards

Graham Cope

PS:  Please feel free to pass the email on to friends, family and colleagues. The more entrants, the higher the prize money is.
