Match report The Lagaan Cup was regained this year by the Indian Association. The Optimists won the toss and chose to bat first in sweltering conditions, in front of a happy crowd enjoying the exotic food, music and drinks kindly put on offer by a generous and kind-hearted group of supporters around the boundary edge.

The Optimists posted 211-7 in the allotted 35 overs; a decent if not spectacular score. In reply, the Indian Association batsman looked in no mood to hang around. They aggressively set about the target, taking full advantage of any weak deliveries and sloppy fielding, sailing comfortably home with 10 overs to spare.
