OCC win final BCF League match

21 Sep 2015

OCC won its final BCF League match on sunday to make it 7 victories out of 8 matches played and this virtually ensures that we have won the 2nd Division. We hope to be invited to go up to the 1st Division for the first time in some years.

Sunday's victory was emphatic. OCC bowled out the Greens in 41 overs for 148. The Greens could only muster 9 players for the match. Richard Neale, who was captaining in place of the absent Will Heath, took a hat-trick to finish off the visitors' innings.

OCC made a very steady start, with a 50 opening stand between James Barker (35) and Anand Pattabiraman, before Murali Ravichandran (46 no) and Taral Desai (29 no) finished the game off in style to give OCC an 8-wicket victory with 21 overs to spare.

It was a great effort and rounds off a super season, marked by increased membership, league success and some good weather and playing conditions.

Congratulations and thanks to all concerned, not forgetting umpires, scorers, caterers, BBQers, grass cutters et al!
