Firstly, the weekend ahead is dedicated to our Ground Set-Up process and currently the weather forecast is good. We need as many volunteers as possible as there is much work to do to prepare the playing surfaces, sort out the nets so that we can train again and to clear out and organise the Club house.
We have hired a heavy roller and we need volunteer drivers for this purpose and you can register to do an hour or two via this link http://doodle.com/poll/r3aec9dk43gweys6[doodle.com]. This is a key part of getting the ground ready so we need a full rota of drivers for this. Put your name in for the slot that works best for you.
For the other tasks, we need to ask volunteers to bring with them the following equipment which is needed for the various tasks:-
- Wheelbarrows; Step ladders; Jet spray machines; hosepipes; electric cables, rakes, spades and stiff brushes.
The plan includes a BBQ at about 4pm on the Sunday to say thank you to all the volunteers so please make every effort to join us and get the 40th season going!
Additionally, our season starts with our 1st team travelling to Belgium on Saturday morning to play two T20 matches in the BCF Tournament. We will play ICCB first starting at 1.30pm followed immediately by a game vs ACCB at 4pm. A squad of 13 has been selected and score updates will be posted via facebook.
