Last weekend witnessed a special event at the PWCG with our club hosting and organising the first-ever Luxembourg Women’s Cricket Tournament. Eight teams competed with a total of 78 players involved and over 84% of these players were playing cricket for the first time. It’s impossible to do match reports for all 20 games but the photos now stored in this website’s gallery section show the energy, enthusiasm and fun had by all. In the Plate competition Starlettes CC triumphed and in the Cup Final, the Optimists Maidens CC were slightly too strong for the Luxembourg City Proteas. There are too many people to thank as so many people contributed but a special mention must go to Sumit Roy, CEO of QBA for sponsoring the event and to Mayor Sauber from the Walferdange Commune who joined us on both days. A fantastic event which will live long in all our memories.
