OCC beat Barnet in last over thriller!

09 Aug 2026

On a pleasant cloudy day, with Luxembourg OCC batted first and posted a competitive 194/5 from their 25 overs, setting Barnet CC a target of 195.

The innings was built on strong contributions from both the top and middle order. Jatin provided a solid start with 36 runs, while Jason top-scored with an impressive 53, combining controlled stroke play with timely boundaries. A. Ali added 31.
OCC finished on 194/5, a total that looked defendable.

Barnet started positively and looked capable of taking control. They reached 61/1 before OCC began to claw their way back into the contest. Whatever Ben had for breakfast, it clearly worked. Channeling the spirit of McGrath, Ben bowled with impeccable line and length, making life extremely difficult for the batters. His spell of 5 overs, yielding 2 crucial wickets, disrupted Barnet’s momentum, and at 136/5, OCC appeared to have regained the upper hand.

 W. Shoab's 45 and Z. Osama's 45 showed a brave resistance and kept the chase alive

With boundaries off the 23rd over suddenly lifted Barnet’s hopes of victory and tilted towards a nail biting finish

The captain then put the nerves of seasoned national team players Jatin and Asghar to the test ahead of the Finland tournament. With 2 overs remaining and Barnet needing just 6 runs to win, Jatin struck with a crucial wicket and conceded only a single run, swinging the game back in OCC’s favour.

Asghar then sealed the victory with two wickets in his first two balls of the final over, bowling Barnet out for 191.
An epic win for OCC.
