As many of you know, the Annual Cricket Academy has developed into an
important part of the development process of young cricketers in
Luxembourg and 2012 will be the 7th annual event. The dates are set from
July 17 to 21st and already over 50 kids have registered. Ben Embleton
will be there every day and the Level 3 coach from the UK (Gavin
Colebourn) will also be with us for the first 4 days. As before, we are
requesting OCC members to volunteer to be part of the coaching staff for
the 5 days of the Academy and you can do so via this simple doodle link

A full programme is being designed by Ben and will incorporate this year
a special stream of training for the U18s International Squad that will
participate in a key tournament in Karlsruhe in August against Germany
France and Belgium. To test this squad, an additional T20 match will be
played on the Friday evening and players are requested to volunteer for
that fixture also.
When volunteering, you will be asked to help out with coaching sessions
for the day and of course you will get lunch provided at the Pavilion.
The timing for each day will be from 8.30 am to 5pm.
On Saturday 21st, there will be the usual (now famous) Barbecue and
Awards ceremony but additionally this year, there will be the draw for
the Fund-Raising Tombola being managed by the Juniors Committee with
cash and gift prizes to be won. All proceeds going to the LCF.
I would really ask you to see if you can dedicate a day to help this
process as it is the highlight of the summer for the cricket youngsters
in Luxembourg, several of whom have now graduated through to the OCC and
international teams.
Thanks & Regards
Graham Cope
