Summer Training 2013
With the weather forecast suggesting warmer and drier days, Optimists outdoor cricket training will begin on Tuesday (16th April) and then Thursday (18th) of next week.
Both the Tuesday and Thursday sessions this summer will be led by Cricket Development Officer, Ben Embleton. They will cover all aspects of cricket and not just be about batting and bowling in a net environment.
Tuesday evenings will be Optimists club training, where all members looking to practice for upcoming fixtures will have the chance to improve their skills.
Thursday evenings will be Optimists 1st XI training, where all those who wish to be considered for the 1st XI should attend. This session will be structured to push players and effort and attendance will be taking into consideration by the Optimists Selection Committee.
Ben will send out an email on Monday every week outlining the training goals for that week.
In order for the nets to be ready for training next week, the Optimists need every possible helping hand for the Ground Tidy-Up this weekend. There will be two sessions, on Saturday from 2pm and on Sunday from midday. Some equipment is needed to make the jobs easier so please bring if you can hosepipes; electrical cables, rakes, spades, stepladders and any other possibly useful tools, gloves etc.
Lets make the 2013 season an enjoyable and successful one!
