Optimists Cricket Club News story

It's Cricket Competition Time!

03 Jan 2014

Dear all,

In 2014, the Luxembourg Cricket Federation and the Optimists Cricket Club are joining forces for a ‘New Pavilion Project’. Anyone who has played at or simply visited the ground in Walferdange knows that we really need to replace the old hut and so a process is underway. We have already received confirmation from the International Cricket Council that they will give us a small grant of £4,000 so long as we secure all other financing by the end of May 2014. An initial design for the replacement has been drafted and now we are talking with the local Commune to see what help they can give us.

To make this happen, we will need to raise additional finance and this ‘Predictions Competition’ is just a fun way to start this. In March, the ICC T20 World Cup will begin in Bangladesh. 16 countries are competing in a 3 stage tournament. Full details can be seen at the official website by following this link http://cma.icc-cricket.com/world-t20/fixtures/men
It will be a great tournament to watch and many different countries could win it.

As in previous years, we have organised this competition and we try to make it simple and fun so that all cricket players, juniors, maidens and general cricket supporters can be involved. All you need to do is make 42 predictions relating to the tournament, plus one tie break question on the entry sheet and send it back to me by email cope@eif.org by 15th March. The person with the most correct predictions can win EUR 200, second prize is EUR 100. It is EUR 10 per entry and you can have as many goes as you like. Remember, all proceeds will go towards the New Pavilion Project.

So please join in and enter and also encourage other friends and family to have a go and support the cause. Please feel free to send the email on to friends. Entry payments are to be made to the Optimists BCEE Account - IBAN LU31 0019 1000 4983 8000 quoting reference of '2014 T20 Competition'. Payments must be made by March 15th for the entry to be valid.

Should you not wish to receive emails on this subject, please also let me know.

Thanks & Regards

Graham

PS: Apologies if you get this email more than once.
