Luxembourg 6-aside cricket weekend: 5-6 July 2014

09 May 2014

Dear cricketers,

On Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July, the Luxembourg Cricket Community gets together for its annual fun weekend of 6-aside cricket. I know its still 8 weeks away, but the sooner we start organising, the better the weekend can be.

For those not familiar with this event, the various LCF teams and individual players organise 6-man (or woman) teams among their friends and play in a friendly, but competitive, tournament that starts on saturday morning and goes through to a final on sunday afternoon. Typically 10 to 12 teams is a good number, but there is no strict limit. There is a bar, barbecue and refreshments all day and it is a great way to spend a social weekend with many of your cricketing colleagues that you otherwise may only see for one game in the season. It is also an excellent way to introduce new players or involve people with an interest in the game, but who cannot play regularly.

The purpose of this e-mail is:
  1. Save the date!
  2. Please let me know if you might organise a team (no commitment at this stage - just to get an idea of interest)
  3. Please let me know if you are interested in participating, but have no team to join (you can also do this by updating your availability in the normal way on the website)
  4. Please let me know if you would like to help with the organisation in some way, to help me ensure the games get played on time and in time, or by scoring, umpiring or helping Tim with the food and drink.

Please respond to robdeed@me.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Rob
