Optimists Cricket Club

Not many cricket clubs have bowlers that have taken a hat-trick. It is an amazing feat to take three wickets in three consecutive balls, but on Saturday 6th June, Wayne Codd managed just this against Deutsche Welle CC at Walferdange, the home of Optimists Cricket Club.

However, even fewer cricket clubs can boast they have a family where both mother and father have taken a hat-trick in their cricketing career. Wayne and Paula are surely in a very elite club and potentially a unique club all to themselves!

Congratulations to Wayne again, the second member of his family to achieve a Hat-trick! We will have to wait a few years to watch young Julia taking a hat-trick but I am sure she will not be short of advice from both Mum and Dad!
