OPTIMISTS CRICKET CLUB – CORONA VIRUS/COVID-19 MEASURES

16 Mar 2020

Following measures introduced by the Luxembourg government on Sunday 15 March, there will be no games or training at the ground for the foreseeable future. In addition, with all social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities being suspended, there can be no club activity at the ground until further notice, including use of the practice nets. The ground preparation day will be delayed and we will liaise with the Walfer commune services to ensure that the ground will be in playable condition as soon as the situation permits.

The Belgian League had originally planned each team's five T20 group fixtures to take place very early in the season, during April, with the first 50-over game (Division 3) for our 2nd XI starting at home on 26 April and our 1st XI kicking off the Division 2 campaign away on 24 May. We await news from the Belgian Cricket Federation on how they plan to react to the measures implemented in Belgium.

We hope all our members and their families stay safe healthy and vigilant and we will be in communication with you as soon as possible.
