Dear All,
As the new outdoor season approaches, it can only mean 2 things. The time for renewing your membership and paying subscription fees has arrived and the ground set up day is also coming up.

1. Membership Renewal and Fee Payment
The Renewal Form (for existing members) along with the New Member Application form (for any new members) can also be found in the ‘How to join the club’ section on the website (www.optimists.cc).
The deadline for the submission of the renewal form (existing members) and payment of the fees is the 19th of April 2026. Please do not leave it to the last minute as if you have NOT submitted a valid form and made the payment you will not be eligible for selection. Applications received after the deadline may still be considered.
Please note that ALL MEMBERS are required to complete the form (including Life Members wanting to play matches this season). The only members exempt from completing the form are existing life members and honourary members not wanting to play matches this season.
Please note the ‘Cricket Matters’ section of the form which includes important information about the following topics:
- Availability (all members must maintain their availability on the website regularly, it is not acceptable to decline selection due to not maintaining your availability on the website regularly)
- Sports Medical (all members wishing to play matches are required to submit a valid sports medical to the Club before being eligible for selection – see section for details)
- Club Rules / Code of Conduct and other Policies (all members must know and adhere to the Club Rules/Code of Conduct and other Policies)
- Volunteering (all members are required to sign up to at least one volunteering area for the season – see section for details)
REMINDER: All members are required to submit a fully completed form and pay their applicable fees (excluding any exemption). Any members who have not done this (including submission of the sports medical certificate) will not be eligible for selection until they do so.

2. Ground Set-Up/Sign-Up Day
Please note that this year’s ground set-up day is planned to take place from 10am on Saturday April the 18th 2026. As usual, we ask as many members as possible to attend in order to carry out all the necessary work that needs to be completed ahead of the start of the season.
However, this season’s set-up day will also be the Club’s first ‘SIGN-UP DAY’. In addition to helping with the ground set-up, members will be given some important information regarding the upcoming outdoor season as well as a last opportunity to pay the membership (either by cash or credit card – if you cannot make the bank transfer beforehand) so we would really encourage as many members as possible to be available to come down.
