The start of the new cricket season is nearly upon us with various fixtures and events to look forward to. The annual Optimists CC Golf day will be held on 1st May (Monday Bank Holiday) at the picturesque Clervaux Golf course (http://www.golfclervaux.lu/en ). It is a stunning golf course and well worth the trip up for a round of golf.
Tee-off times will start from 13:30 and the format of the day is as follows:
Groups of 4 will start tee-offing from 13:30 in a stableford points competition.
Prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin on designated holes will also be on offer.
1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded as well as a mystery prize for last place.
It is recommended that you hire or share the hire of a golf buggy as the course is quite hilly.
Cost for the round is: €63
Buggy hire is: €35/buggy that sits two people.
Golf club hire: €14/full set and €10/half set.
Chairman, William Heath will be on roaming bar duty to offer refreshments as we go round via his beer-buggy!
Would you like to participate but never played golf before? Well, how about a 2-hour introduction to golf with a lesson from the Golf Professional?
For €70 (minimum 2 people) you will have 2 hours on the driving range (equivalent of nets for golf) with golf clubs and balls and the expert help and tuition of the golf pro. This will start at 16:00, so when you finish, everyone should be finishing around the same time.
After the golf, everyone is invited to New Delhi Restaurant in Gasperich for a curry and the prize-giving at around 20:00 where partners/friends are more than welcome to attend as well.
