Match 1: WOCC vs Heritage (Qualifier 1)

at 9.15. am. After losing the Toss and put to Bat for the first time in tournament, the message from Skipper was clear that “the difference between winners and losers is the way they react when things do not go as per their plan”. The classic duo of Ed and Will were back again for their opening duty. Will started off in his trademark fashion by hitting back to back sixes in the first over but couldn’t sustain and was caught behind in next over. Aman followed suit hitting his first ball for six and then was neatly caught at short third man. Ed after hitting 2 sixes of 2 balls he faced was bowled by Raju. Joost and Oves could not make a big impact as Heritage kept on taking regular wickets and with the score of 61/5 were hoping to wrap the innings early but Thomas may have said “not in my watch”. He ensured the scoreboards keeps on ticking and he hit some majestic sixes for his innings of 60 of 29 (2 fours and 6 Sixes) with a hattrick of sixes in the final over. He was well supported by Ben Embleton (14 of 7) and Mohit (18 of 5) to set a target of 137.

Heritage started the run chase in a destructive manner with Amit Halbhavi setting the tone with a quickfire 33 of 10 before getting out in the 2nd over followed by Vivek dixit (38 of 19) who were well supported by Alston, Vikram and Anoop to chase the target in 9.4 overs. Heritage always looked in total control of the run chase with Vivek also hitting a hattrick of sixes to Milad.
